Well it's Mothers Day and I really shouldn't be going for a ride,
but I figure I have the rest of the day to try and make it up to
the wife.
As it stands only Kent. Bob and myself are good to go. Kent
and Bob have time constraints and will not do the Carter lake
ride. They will turn back early. I will see how I am
feeling but I want to do the climb now that I have mentally prepared
for the suffering. I'll keep this report really brief, cause I don't
have time for the full detail. The 3 hog backs were really uneventful. Kent who is still doing
weights and did them last night was lagging expectedly on the 1st 2
ascents where Bob and I summited more or less togehter.
Kent took the 3rd one but we weren't going hard an Bob nor I answered
Kent's challenge so he summited 1st on that one.At Glade Road, Bob and Kent turned back and I continied on at a
moderate pace. Saw lots of fellow cyclists on my way to
Pinewood.I did the TT 34 seconds faster than last time with a time of
24.35. I must admit I wasn't motivated but was happy to beat the
old time with less effort. The trip home was uneventful with a nice tail wind. I did shadow
a rider up the 1st hogback. Saw a sport-ut lock up the brakes and
almost hit a car. Yes I was almost next to that accident but I
saw which way the SU was slidding and I was gonna be safe no matter
what.A good time was had by all. About 60 miles at 16.8 mph avg.
